Situated within The Dulwich Estate there were certain design sensibilities that had to be adhered to. It was crucial to consider the wider landscape beyond the boundaries of the property. Whilst keeping the garden contained, we still wanted it to feel part of a much bigger beautiful green space. We used vertical sleepers to work with the natural lay of the land and used light airy planting to see through to the grounds beyond.

"Rachel took our unloved, steeply sloping, London clay garden and turned it into a place of beauty that we adore. Aside from rising to the obvious challenges, Rachel took the time to listen to our ideas and understand how we intended to use the garden – putting together a design that worked for both the location and us as a family. Her joyful enthusiasm was infectious. She opened our eyes to a whole world of gardening which, as this was our first garden, was new and somewhat daunting.
