Buckstone Close Se23

Once a neglected sloping garden with precarious uneven stone steps winding up it, so overgrown was this garden that its true size was not even revealed until cleared. The heavy clay soil needed a lot of retaining so we decided to embrace it by making the steps themselves the main feature. Using corten steel risers with a buff gravel infill for the treads to compliment the new modern extension, we staggered the steps up the steep incline to link the lower and upper decking. Soft perennials and grasses billow over into the path to soften the edges. We also used gabion cages as retaining walls creating a modern yet laid back natural feel.

"Before Rachel was recommended to us we were facing an overwhelming situation with our garden which we had neglected for years. Her vision has transformed an overgrown jungle into a garden that is beautiful to look at and a space to enjoy. It has made a wonderful addition to our home. Each season we are discovering new pockets of interest in the garden thanks to Rachel's planting. Not only has she given us a wonderful space she has also sparked an interest in gardening which is now an enjoyable passtime instead of a chore. Rachel guenuinely cares about our garden and we always enjoy her maintenance visits." - Diana Stewart"
